MOVE

Physiotherapist led Clinical Pilates class

Three people participating in a Pilates class on reformer machines, with two women and one man practicing stretching and balance exercises.

How Do I Get Started?

Step 1:

  • You can speak to our receptionists, and they will help you make an initial MOVE appointment with one of our trained Clinical Pilates physiotherapists. You can also make an initial MOVE appointment online, via our website.

  • This appointment will run for 40 minutes, where your history will be obtained, and an assessment will be completed to identify your problem and gauge your current level and needs.

  • During your initial appointment, your physiotherapist will also go through the different class packages and rehab programmes we run in our clinic.

Step 2:

  • Following your initial MOVE appointment, a personalised programme will be drafted by your physiotherapist, according to your level and goals.

  • Depending on the outcome of your assessment, your physiotherapist may recommend anywhere between one to three more one-on-one 40-minute MOVE subsequent appointments, where you will be introduced to the Clinical Pilates gym space and equipment, as well as your exercises and how to set the equipment up.

  • You will have the opportunity to try the exercises in your programme and give feedback on how you feel about them. Any other issues concerning you can be addressed during these appointments.

Step 3:

  • The aims of our one-on-one appointments are for you to gain a better understanding of your programme and build confidence in your ability to complete the exercises with good technique.

  • Once you feel ready to attend the classes, you can start booking your class with the help of our receptionists, or via online through the website.

  • We run our Clinical Pilates MOVE classes every day and are fully supervised by trained Clinical Pilates physiotherapists.

Step 4:

  • Attend your Clinical Pilates MOVE classes as advised by your physiotherapist.

  • After 5 to 6 weeks, you may want to book a review session to discuss your current goals and programme, with a possibility of a programme review/change.

How We Run Our MOVE Classes

  • Each MOVE class runs for 40 minutes.

  • There will be a maximum of 6 clients per class.

  • During the class, there will be a Clinical Pilates qualified physiotherapist supervising you as you complete your set of exercises. Techniques will be corrected if required.

  • You are strongly encouraged to ask the physiotherapist any questions you have, to gain a better understanding of each exercise.

  • You will be oriented to the Clinical Pilates gym space during your one-on-one consult with the physiotherapist. A brief explanation of the different equipment used, and setup will be provided.
