FAQs

Clothing

We recommend wearing loose fitting or flexible clothing. Most injuries require physical treatment and exposure of the injury site, so consideration to your clothing should be made. Your Skinny Black jeans are typically not ideal for knee injuries. But rest assured that we do have private rooms, and we have ‘borrow’ shorts available if needed.

Parking

Please be aware that Sydney Rd north bound is a CLEAR WAY from 4-6pm weekdays. Cars do get towed, regularly. Yes we do feel bad when it happens, but unfortunately we cannot keep track of where you park your car. We have a council carpark only 2 doors north of the practice, and street parking is often available.

Referrals

A referral from your GP is generally NOT necessary, however we do appreciate it. Physiotherapists are primary practitioners, with an expertise in diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal injuries. Private health funds do not require a GP referral to provide a rebate. Similarly Workcover and TAC also generally do not require GP referrals for Physiotherapy approval, but a GP is required for the first Certificate Of Capacity if time off work or altered work is required.

For Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) aka Team care Arrangements (TCA’s) a GP referral and Care plan is required prior to your first session. Your General Practitioner will determine how many will be allocated to Physiotherapy. A maximum of 5 sessions per calendar year can be approved over all Allied Health disciplines

Water Bottles

At Reload Physio we are making a concerted effort to reduce our impact on the environment, so we encourage you to bring a reusable waterbottle to classes, we have chilled water available. Glasses will also be available for use in the waiting room.

Investigations/ Imaging

Physiotherapists can refer for some investigation however in many instances a greater Medicare rebate can be achieved with a GP or Specialist referral. If you have recent imaging or reports of your injury, we encourage you to bring them to your Initial Consultation to form part of our clinical reasoning process. However contrary to many beliefs, any ‘abnormal’ findings found on your scan may not be a contributing factor to your pain. Our assessment and diagnosis skills can help confirm the relevance of the findings from your imaging.

Pensioner and Health Care Card holders
