Stuart Harsley - Ironman Triathlete

Ironman Certified Coach- SHOT Coaching

2x Kona Ironman Finisher (World Championships)

5x Ironman Finisher

Stuart has been a long time client of our practice as we have helped his body to last many many hours of training and racing as an Ironman athlete.

Stuart undertook his first triathlon as a teenager in 1986.  After that, he was hooked on the sport of triathlon!  After taking a break to get married and start a family, his triathlon journey was reignited in 2014 when he embarked on training and competing in his first Ironman 70.3, in Geelong, Australia.  Since then he’s competed in seven half Ironmans and five full Ironmans, including the 2017 and 2018 World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Stuart prides himself in getting everything within his control right – the ‘one-percenters’ are crucial. He is now also an Ironman Certified Coach and mentors athletes of all abilities to chase their triathlon dreams.

We continue to work with Stuart as he continues to love_to_tri.

Amelia Griffith- Ultra Runner

Achievements:

  • Australian Representative 100km Asian and Oceania Championships- 2019

  • 100km Track National Championships- 1st overall 2020

  • Delirious West 200 miler – 3rd female 2019

  • Marathon PB 3:02 – Sydney 2017

GoalS:

  • Cocodona 250 Miler- Arizona

  • Coast to Kosci 240km

  • Entry and successfully complete the infamous Badwater 135

Running has always been a huge part Amelia’s life, from Little Athletics, and school X-Country, then 10km and half marathon races. In 2005 she completed her first marathon in Canberra thinking it was the best thing she had ever done!

From 2005 to 2019 she participated in countless marathons, both nationally and overseas (including New York (twice), Boston, Tokyo, and Las Vegas), and in 2014 she started to wonder just how far she could run, and her Ultra-Marathon career began.

Her Ultras started with a 50km event around the Tan in Melbourne and have progressed all the way up to the MOAB 240 miler in Utah, USA in 2023.  She came 7th female in a time of 98hrs 13minutes without any support crew… and she is not stopping there!

Amelia’s future goals include more extreme distance Ultras including completing the Cocodona 250 miler in Arizona, obtaining at least 210km in a track 24hr race and making the Australian team, finishing the Coast to Kosci event (240km), completing a 300 miler in Arizona, and then hopefully being accepted to run Badwater 135 in the USA.

On top of her own goals, she hopes to continue to encourage as many people as possible to either take up running, or train towards achieving their goals, no matter how big or small they are.  Motivating and helping the running community is one of her biggest passions, which also includes volunteering at events to help others achieve their own goals. In 2023, Amelia was lucky enough to be support crew for an Australian at the infamous Barkley marathon in Frozen Head State National Park, Tennessee!

Aside from running, Amelia loves strength training in the gym to help with injury prevention and making her feel stronger for her own events.

With all the training Amelia does, it is no surprise that she will be utilising the clinical team at Reload a lot to ensure she stays injury free.

… last but definitely not least, our very own Reload Run Club Coach…

Kate Avery - Champion Trail Runner

Kate has earned a GB vest 19 times across indoor, outdoor, cross country and, most recently, mountain running. She has 14 European medals and 2 World team medals, a 4th place finish in the 10,000m at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and is currently the only British woman to have ever won the NCAA cross-country title.

Having left the track and cross-country behind, Kate is now reaching the same heights on the trails. 2022 saw her earn a top 10 finish at the European Mountain & Trail Running Championships in Spain and a top 20 finish at the World Mountain & Trail Running Championships in Thailand.

These experiences have taught Kate the value of a strong coach-athlete relationship - one that is built upon communication and a shared drive towards the goals of the individual. Her background gives her a wealth of knowledge on training processes and the ability to adapt plans to suit goals across multiple distances, terrains and for varying fitness levels and backgrounds.

Kate has a particular enthusiasm for coaching within a running group as she understands the value that others have played in her own journey. She is looking forward to building a community of individuals with shared values that helps each other to achieve the biggest or smallest of goals!
